Learning to throw and make pots on the potters wheel is a bit like learning to drive, once you know the basics it’s just practice, practice, practice. Many people who would like to try making pots on the potters wheel, or who would like to improve their skills find that a couple of hours a week is not enough help them to progress. By having several hours of intensive tuition, you can make much more progress and learn to make some really good pots. Once you can do it you don’t want to stop.
The course is suitable for total beginners or people who have a little experience on the wheel who need some focused practice to allow them to improve. Throwing weekends at the Old Stables are informal and relaxed and fun. Small class numbers, individual use of a potters wheel, and lots of individual attention allow for intensive learning conducive to progressing your skills quickly.
Working from 10am to 4pm each day, and make a lot of pots! Leave the best five with us (3kls) and we will fire and glaze them for you to pick up at a later date.
