POTTERY COURSES IN HEBDEN BRIDGE

Customer Comments

Weekend on the Wheel, Diane:

” I really enjoyed this and it was very satisfying to produce so many pots in such a seemingly short space of time. As you know, I liked it so much that I bought my friend along with me on Day 2. The food was also very good (please send a big thank you to Lizzie) and I think would suit the dietary needs of most students, not to mention it being extra nice not having to cook for a weekend which left me free to concentrate on learning how to make pots in an informal, friendly atmosphere.

When she (Edyn)  initially suggested putting a little hallmark on them I thought it would look silly but now I’m glad I did as it makes them a bit more original. I really enjoyed it and hope to have another go soon”.

Raku Firing Day, Fiona:

“Just to say what a fantastic day I had on Saturday at the raku course. I had done raku before but it is still incredibly exciting to see what comes out. I enjoyed it all from making up the glazes ourselves, through the lovely lunch provided to the moment of seeing how our “experiments” had turned out. 10 out of 10″.

NHS Team building day, Newcastle:

“Fantastic! Really helped us bond as a new team”

Leeds Deaf Women’s Health Group:

“This morning I went to LDWHG meeting. They are keen to attend another pottery session next year!”

Raku Day, Aly:

“I had a FANTASTIC time!!! Thank you so much for all your input Edyn you are truly a mistress of your craft :-) Can’t wait till the next one! Keep me posted…oh and the food was FAB…could I have the recipe?”

Andrew & Friends for Weekend on the Wheel, May 2012

The weekend on the wheel was a wonderful experience, highly advised for a group of friends who want something a little different on a weekend away – creative, fun, relaxed and very enjoyable.  Although it may seem daunting and frightening when you start, Edyn, your clay guru, soon smoothes away any issues (and preconceptions) you may have had and makes the course a joy, providing you with an excellent foundation of skills and growing experience you need to throw on a wheel, in a knowledgeable and friendly way.  Edyn really is an excellent tutor – a real mine of information.  She combines practical and factual group demonstration as well as more specific and tailored one to one tuition regarding your progress and creative aims and objectives, and how to achieve them.  The objects you create are fired and glazed in a beautiful cream glaze which you can collect a few weeks later and provides a testament of your creative and practical flair.  Lizzie’s tasty home cooking for lunch and being welcomed temporarily into the family also makes this weekend a special event.  Being based in the beautiful old mill town of Hebden Bridge with its array of individual and quirky shops, galleries and eateries is an added advantage too.   I can’t recommend this weekend enough.
